About the event

Join Us for the 2nd Edition of Community Sing Circle: A Heart-Opening Journey of Song, Connection and Nourishment!

Are you ready to rediscover the joy of your voice in a safe, transformative space?

Step into a warm, welcoming, alcohol-free, all-ages, family-friendly gathering where voices unite, hearts open and connections deepen. Inspired by timeless traditions like campfire singalongs, kirtan-style circles and community choirs, Community Sing Circle isn’t about performing, it’s a guided, participatory experience that unlocks confidence, fosters emotional safety and celebrates the healing power of shared music.

The vocal leader (and incredibly talented musician) we have been blessed with for for this 2nd Edition, is someone who’s deeply immersed in music, not just as a performer, but as a creator, producer and space-holder.

Jae Bones brings a blend of live acoustic guitar and vocals, electronic music and conscious dance culture, moving between intimate acoustic moments and full festival DJ lead dance floors.

He brings his incredible variety of musical talents to various events and festivals across Sydney as well as Secret Valley Festival in Mudgee and we feel incredibly lucky to have him stepping into the circle with us in May!

What makes Jae such a beautiful fit for this space is his love of participatory music, creating experiences where everyone is involved.

He will often bring along his percussion instruments to share so the whole room can play, sing and move together, making it feel less like a performance and more like something shared.

We’re really looking forward to sharing this experience with you!!

Imagine immersing yourself in:

•  Familiar Songs & Harmonies: Sing along to beloved nostalgic tunes from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and now with gentle vocal guidance, no pressure, no judgment, just pure enjoyment as we blend voices in uplifting unity.

•  Guitar-Led Magic & Optional Instruments: Led by acoustic guitar, with space for your own portable instruments (like hand percussion or guitars) to add rhythm and flow, all curated for an inclusive, cohesive vibe.

•  Embodiment & Movement: Gentle practices to ground your body, release tension and connect your breath with your voice, turning self-consciousness into playful ease.

•  Nourishing Communal Dinner: End the evening with a shared, whole-food feast prepared by the renowned Chef Jeevi (aka The Laughing Chef). As Sydney’s beloved plant-based pioneer, Jeevi brings joy and vitality to every bite with his gluten-free, dairy-free, peanut-free, vegetarian creations. Drawing from his Nepalese roots and certification as a Raw Food Chef from California’s Living Light Culinary Institute, Jeevi’s dishes are fun, flavourful and deeply nourishing, perfect for fuelling connections over laughter and conversation. He’s a staple at retreats, workshops and events across Australia, where his “make healthy food FUN” ethos transforms meals into memorable experiences.

•  Lewis Mackenzie (@meliflewis): A versatile pianist, multi-instrumentalist, composer and music educator who champions self-expression and creative exploration. Lewis supports participants in engaging with music in an open, grounded and embodied way, adding depth to our harmonies.

•  Cassie Wallis (@movementjourney8): A passionate dance and voice teacher dedicated to making movement and singing accessible for all. With her gentle, confidence-building approach, Cassie helps transform hesitation into ease and play, guiding you home to your body and voice.

Founded by Melissa Williams, a Clinical Hypnotherapist and Strategic Psychotherapist at Zen Mind Body Therapies, Community Sing Circle is more than a one-off event, it’s the start of an ongoing community, gathering every 6-8 weeks to build lasting bonds.

We’re proudly aligned with local not-for-profits:

The Women’s Resilience Centre (@womensresiliancecentre), supporting women and families post-trauma.

Mowana Safe Space (@mowanasafespace), a safe haven for those in emotional distress

Accessibility is really important to us, which is why we have provided heavily subsidised tickets to these organisations so that Northern beaches locals in their programs who are experiencing hardship can still attend.

We have also partnered with a local charity:

Acts of Kindness (@aokcommunityoutreach), rescuing surplus food and cooking for those in need.

$2 from every ticket purchased will be donated to this cause.

Together, we’re weaving wellbeing, support and unity into Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

All voices welcome, no experience needed.

Whether solo, with family, friends, or as a couple, come as you are and leave feeling more confident, connected and alive.
